Rosemary Smith Counseling

Rosemary SmithOver the past twelve years, I have provided individuals, couples and families with a safe environment that fosters growth, insight, hope and change. This includes a wide array of issues including depression, addiction and substance abuse, pornography, eating disorders, suicidal impulses, stress management, problems with self-esteem, and relationship problems.

I completed a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at Northwest Nazarene, Nampa, Idaho. I also hold a bachelors degree from Idaho State University in Social Work.  Following my graduate work, I worked in community behavioral health where I gained experience working with a wide-range of mental health concerns affecting individuals, couples, and families.  This involvement helped me discover my strong interest in working with couples, especially couples affected by pornography addiction, affairs, and other betrayals. In addition, I am passionate about working with women with PTSD symptoms (trauma) who struggle to find balance and their own self worth and identity.

This all has led me to my association with the LifeSTAR network in 2009. I then opened up a private practice, Cornerstone Counseling and Education and LifeSTAR of Rexburg, a three-phase program for couples and individuals affected by pornography and sexual addiction.

I have continued to seek advanced training in both pornography/sexual addiction treatment as well as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).  My focus in both my couples work as well as the group work in the LifeSTAR program is helping individuals and couples heal the patterns of attachment in their relationships.

I have been married for 33 years to my husband, Jeff and we are the parents of six children and 8 grandchildren.  I enjoy reading, crafts, outdoors and spending time with my husband and family.
